Successfully maneuvering a team through the ups and downs of starting a new business can be one of the greatest challenges a small-business owner faces.

Leadership is one of the areas that many entrepreneurs tend to overlook, according leadership coach John C. Maxwell, whose books include The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership (Thomas Nelson, 1998) and Developing the Leader Within You (Thomas Nelson, 1993).

  1. Great article. The number one secret of team building is perhaps the hardest to put into practice. Much of the success of a team  has to do with the leader's confidence that teams actually are more effective than working alone. If each team members believes that their sacrifice and patience on behalf of the team will result in achieving organizational goals faster then they will gladly give up their autonomy. The leader sets the atmosphere that allows that dynamic to take place by believing in his team.
